According to some shared code strings on Reddit the most awaited Sonos voice assistant is going to make it’s entry soon in the market of voice assistants, leaving a new competition for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. But according to a recent survey, it reveals that the Sonos voice control feature doesn’t look to be compatible with Google assistant.

According to the code strings users can command using their voice to do multiple activities such as playing or pausing music, increasing or lowering volumes, reporting charging percentage of your smartphone. The logos shared in the code arise questions about its’ compatibility because it shows a tick mark on Alexa’s logo and a cross mark on Google assistant’s logo. So it’s pretty obvious that the feature will be compatible with Alexa but not with Google assistant.

The fact isn’t unknown that Google and Sonos have been battling over patent infringement since 2020. For the multiple times Sonos have accused Google for stealing different patents in their smart speakers.
However, since the news spread like wildfires Sonos lovers are eagerly waiting for it to launch. According to sources, “hey Sonos” will be the wake word for Sonos voice control.
