Highlights from what’s new on Netflix in July

Stranger Things 4, Volume 2 (July 1)

Season 4 of Stranger Things finally comes to an end with the final two, extra-long episodes, new on Netflix in July. With Vecna on the loose and Eleven trying to get her powers back, the stakes are as high as ever. Will she get her powers back? Can she save her friends and Hawkins? Does everyone make it out alive to return in season 5? Find out when Volume 2 drops on July 1.


Boo, Bitch (July 8)

Two BFFs nearing the end of high school are ready to make their mark before it’s too late. But then one of them, Erika, is struck by a car and killed. Back from the dead and with nothing to lose, Erika may now be ready for the big time. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’s Lana Condor stars in this teen dark comedy about the price of popularity, new on Netflix in July.


Resident Evil (July 14)

It’s getting hard to keep track of all of the Resident Evil projects floating around, including an animated show on Netflix and a 2021 feature live-action film. Fourteen years after a deadly virus wiped out much of humanity, a woman looks for answers from the corporation responsible. That means finding allies and fighting her way through all kinds of scary beasties in this video game adaptation, new on Netflix in July.


Persuasion (July 15)

Jane Austen’s final novel comes to life in Persuasion. When a former love comes back into her life, Anne Elliot must decide if the past should stay where it is or whether she’s ready to give love a second chance. Dakota Johnson stars alongside Cosmo Jarvis, Henry Golding, and Richard E. Grant in this Netflix original film.


The Gray Man (July 22)

From the Russo brothers, directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Endgame, comes this new Netflix original film. When a deadly CIA asset discovers agency secrets, it kicks off a global manhunt to shut him up. Are his former colleagues up to the task of bringing him in? Ryan Gosling heads up an all-star cast that includes Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, Jessica Henwick, and more.
